A Bit of History

It all started in 1969, when a man named Alex Fisenko came to America and could not find a good cup of espresso, he partnered with a friend and became the first distributors of commercial espresso machines in the U.S. and went on to open his first coffee shop in 1970 and another in 1976 at the University of Berkeley...

Alex went on to open more of his own shops, 16 in total, and has provided consulting services for more than 250 other shops all over the world, including GO JAVA COFFEE. Alex has been speaker and presenter at Coffee Fest for numerous years and was well known in the coffee community. He had close relationships with many people influential in the coffee industry including Dr. Ernesto Illy of Illy coffee, who had great influence on Alex. With the Alex experience behind him and with the help of Dr. Illy, the "Grandfather of Espresso", Alex began to develop an espresso blend of his own and was perfected over time.

The Beans

Our Espresso consists of all high quality specialty-grade Arabica beans. The origins vary from Indonesia, Central and South America, Sumatra, Columbia, and Brazil, roasted to varying degrees to bring out the peak flavor of each origin.
